Mr. Peanut’s Missing Accessory
When constructing a classy, old-fashioned, turn-of-the-century suit ensemble, there are many stereotypical items that come to mind. Most of the essentials can be found by simply looking at a picture of Mr. Peanut. From his cane to top hat and monocle, Mr. Peanut adorns almost all of the requisite old style wear.
One staple piece that is missing, however, is a pocket watch. When you look at Mr. Peanut you almost expect to see a gold pocket watch chain at his side. Perhaps it is because he lacks pockets, but I think that this accessory would put the finishing touch on his ensemble.

Be sure to opt for an aesthetically pleasing piece that will be appropriate for a wide range of occasions. It is also vital to choose a face that it the correct size for your wrist; too big of a face will dwarf your wrist and look bulky, while one too small will look like a children’s timepiece.
On your watch hunt ignore the manufacturers bands completely. There are a variety of watch straps made of nearly every material imaginable that can easily be attached to any face. Changing the band can have a big impact on the overall appearance of your timepiece, so it is best to mix and match to your taste.
